The answer is yes, I think family should be part of the newborn session. You might think no for a lot of different reasons but please keep reading.
The family portion of newborn sessions can seem stressful for many reasons, right?
1. You recently gave birth and you're not feeling the best. You might think you're not looking the best because you're tired, etc.
2. Your toddler/ older children might not cooperate.
3. Your significant other doesn't like being in photos.
4. You don't feel like being photographed because of one thing or another.
5. The list goes on and on.
But, this is your life right now, in this moment. Don't forget to capture these memories. We all have regrets in life, don't let this be one of yours.
I get it, you just gave birth not too long ago. You might not feel the best and you're tired. Why get all done up to be in photos you don't want to be in. Not everyone feels this way, but a lot do. I hear this all the time. Let's fast forward to your ordering appointment. Why? Because you only buy what you love, meaning if you don't love the family portion, you don't have to buy it.
Are you thinking it will be overwhelming to get your significant other and your other children to cooperate, or even want to be in the photos? Don't over think it. Even if it's true, let me guide you all to make it a great experience.
Guess what! I'm very good with kids because I'm goofy and they love that. Plus, I don't focus on getting everyone perfectly posed while looking at the camera, I strive to get the emotion of the moment. A lot of parents tell me that they dreaded this part of the session, but it went great. I want everyone comfortable, especially the littles.
Your baby is only this little for so long. Having professional portraits at this stage in life is something you will cherish forever. Holding that baby in your arms will never be the same. Don't wait, book now.
Hugs and love!
Michelle
